Xandi has a special interest in - and is dedicated to - teaching Xhosa as a Second Language. For her, Xhosa in not just a subject, but a way of embracing her compatriots and broadening her mind. It is this vision that inspired her to write Xhosa for Second-Language Learners.

She hopes to inspire as many people as possible to speak Xhosa, thereby making the language more accessible to more South Africans. Her goal - and the objective of writing this book - is that every student wanting to learn Xhosa is able to turn to a clear, concise handbook that is easy to access and negotiate. She hopes that Xhosa for Second-Language Learners will assist and inspire many generations of students as they learn to love the beautiful language that is Xhosa.
